Data retention policies in the UN and other organizations.
Hi all,
I doing some research on how to improve the visibility of our content when using our website search engine (SharePoint 2010).
One important thing exercise to do is to clean up your content. A related issue is the data retention policy an organization has for websites, webpages and/or documents (PDFs of reports, publications, etc.), i.e. retention time, archival rules, backup/deletion.
My question is: does your organization have such retention policy in place? If yes, would it be possible for you to share any documentation you may have? The UN may have its own policy, but I am also interested in getting the point of view from private sector.
I remember documents related to archiving of websites or webpages were circulated by WHO and OCHA in this group, but I was wondering whether there were more recent guidelines out there (the one I saw are from 2011).
You can either reply to this thread and/or send documents to faunde...@gmail.com
Thanks
