Hello everyone - does anyone know how to resolve this error? In case it is relevant, this is an entry that I'd previously saved and reloaded. No matter what I put in the Record Name box, I cannot resolve the error. I'd really love to not have to re-enter all the data!

I did see this error listed in a previous post, but it seems like it was related to a different issue (updates to the # of populations).

Thanks for any advice!

Hi Brenna,

I'm sorry this happened to you. Here therefore I name you the official Bug-slayer. Or at least the Bug-finder. Or just the Unlucky?

I checked Kobotoolbox community forum and this seems to be a new bug, still unresolved and still unclear why is it happening. But is seems to be related to Broswer versions, or maybe the form being saved for too long and the cache going funny. However I would NOT clean the cache (suggested solution) because this will overwrite your current form and any other you saved before.

I have reported this is also happening to us, so hopefully the Kobo people will get it sorted and it won't affect us in the future.

In the mean while, you could either:

a) Open the left menu (where your saved drafts appear). Click on "Export", download the zip file and sent it to me. I can import it to Kobo afterwards.

or

b) open a different browser and open a new form. Then copy your answers into a new form.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Alicia

Also, if you decide to go for the export option (a), please also save the pdf version (print icon top left) just in case. It would be the first time I do the import thing and having a backup is always a good idea.

Thanks Alicia - we had a student in class who also encountered this error, so it's good to know there isn't an easy fix. Hopefully the larger Kobo team gets it resolved soon! For my particular species, I'll just re-enter the data and in the future try not to let data set in the browser too long.

Hopefully this is the last bug I find! :)
Brenna

PS - I tried to reply in the google group and my post kept getting deleted....? So hopefully answering from my gmail will work. Thanks again for looking into this!
