The ability of the GeneRax to determine horizontal transfers of core genes

We would like to use the GeneRax to compare the frequency of horizontal transfers of core and not core genes. For this task, I'd like to ask you: is the GeneRax suitable for detecting horizontal transfer of core genes?

Hi Nick,

If by core genes you mean single copy gene families that are present in all (or most of) the species, yes. And it should also be suitable for not core genes as well.

If you don't expect any gene duplication, you can disable gene duplication events with the --no-dup option (I am not sure that this option is documented yet).
