I wanted to let you know about an exciting event Future Civic Leaders is having next week. Future Civic Leaders engages high school students from low-incoming communities in the political process through free civic education summer camps, and leadership programs. This summer will be our fourth year of conferences, and we're planning on making some exciting changes. 

We recently launched a capital campaign to increase our staffing and host five regional programs in the 2013-2014 academic year. The success of this event will allow us to build a permanent institution dedicated to fighting political apathy among young people in disadvantaged areas. 

We'll be joined by some great guests including NBC Capitol Hill correspondent Luke Russert. The event will be held at the Amway Townhouse on Capitol Hill on May 6th, running from 6:30-8:30PM. We'll also be joined by members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, as well as past FCL students so you can hear their stories for yourself. I hope you can join us on May 6th.
