Preparations: to Bring or Not To Bring · People matter first and foremost: So bring yourself, your family & friends so they don't miss this great event. · The weather is expected high of 81 degrees and a low of 69 degrees. The forecast has the possibility of PM T-storms with a chance precipitation at 30%. The UV index is 7 very high. Humidity is at 83%. · Given the amount of positive people at our event, I like our chances for a sunny day. It looks to be hot & muggy though, so please dress accordingly for hot & cold weather (we are doing our best to control the AC temperatures in the building), & also that scant chance of rain. · Bring any medicine or necessary personals for the whole day event. · You don't need to bring any food or drink, as three meals are provided, along with snacks and beverages available at both the AA and AE locations. Arrival & Contact Procedures: What's NeXt? · It is important to try to register by 8 AM to avoid standing in long lines, to enjoy breakfast, & to get ready for a great day of events. · The Conference will start promptly @ 9 AM. · Once you register, our friendly volunteers will give you a program booklet w/map, a vintage GenerAsian neXt t-shirt, and other materials and directions that you will need for the day. · The Conference will be from 8 AM to 8 PM. Please stay until the ending processions for dinner, recognitions, event awards, as well as the opportunity to win the grand prize give-away to all registrants. You only have the chance of winning if you stay! · Also this is a one day event, take advantage of the opportunity to meet someone new, share ideas, and learn something about others and yourself. Our minds are like a parachute, they work best when open! Now in case you're lost in space, its mission control's mission to direct you to your destination safely and to make sure your voyage is as comfortable as possible.· Please contact Conference Chairs, Robin Ng (614.477.8911) and Daisy Wardani (614.596.8554), or even myself at (614.354.9543) to answer any immediate queries, directions, or accommodations on August 19th. If you have questions now, please don't hesitate to e-mail Robin at ng_...@yahoo.com and he will be happy to respond.· Finally as always, don't forget to check our website at www.aacsohio.org/generasian.html for more news, updates, and archived GenerAsian Weekly's to get you ready for GenerAsian neXt! Roger that, GenerAsian neXt, you are clear for take-off! I'll see you on the 19th in sunny J Columbus!"For those who have seen the Earth from space, and for the hundreds and perhaps thousands more who will, the experience most certainly changes your perspective. The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us." -Donald Williams Viruck Tep/August 2006] |
