2005 GenerAsian neXt Youth Leadership Conference - Communicating to Connect

Dear Friends:

Hi! Hope everyone has been finding time in their busy schedule to
enjoy the summer so far.

This is Jane Lee, the conference administrator for the 2005 GenerAsian
neXt Youth Leadership Conference. Judy Yeh, the Director of the Youth
Department at the
Asian American Community Services (AACS), has once again decided to
launch the conference in style. We want to extend our sincere
invitation to you to attend the conference this year, since we know
that you can only benefit from the information that will be presented
at the conference.

This year's theme is Communicating to Connect. We have invited
several esteemed guest speakers who will present on topics ranging
from self-identity and cross-cultural issues, overcoming gender
stereotypes, understanding and navigating our legal system, and
developing effective communication skills for Asian parents and their
children. Additionally, we have recruited numerous college students
as well young professionals to help lead group discussions following
each guest speaker's presentation. This provides an excellent
opportunity for the conference participants to network with younger
people who are eager to share their leadership and life experiences
with interested students. Some of those experiences may be
particularly relevant and helpful to students who are getting ready to
or have already begun the process of applying to colleges.

Last but not least, we will be providing breakfast and lunch as well
as refreshments throughout the day. Early registrants who mail in
their applications by the early-bird deadline (July 12th) - THIS IS
NEXT TUESDAY - will also receive a free t-shirt. We are very proud of
our shirt this year, as it features our theme Communicating to Connect
and represents the kind of originality, energy and spirit that our
conference committee has put forth and invested in the conference year
after year.

This year's conference will take place on Saturday, August 20th. We
hope that everyone will be able to attend again. We are positive that
you will find the conference both an enriching and exciting day of
learning and fun.

Please find attached to this email a brochure that outlines the
complete program for the day of the conference as well as a
registration form. Simply download the attachments, fill out the
registration form and send back to me at the AACS office (the mailing
address is included in this email below and also in the registration
