Hi sir,
I want to increase the HTSeq counts by adding 1 to all the datasets. When I opened the file in excel, I was able to edit it but it was later getting saved in text format. Can you please tell me if there is an alternative way?

Regards,
Sruthi

Hello Sruthi,

To save an Excel file as GCT you have to Save as type: Text (Tab delimited) and place parentheses around the file name:

If that doesn't work (some modern versions of Excel no longer allow this), once you've saved as tab delimited text, you can simply rename the file removing the .txt extension and adding .gct. You may have to enable your operating systems option to show extensions for known file types.
