Dear GeneMANIA,

With this gene interaction network visualization tool, I was wondering if by chance any of you have used cytoscape.js Javascript visualization library to build your tool? Thank you.

(Or did you use cytoscape desktop app?)

Best regards,
Juan

Hello - yes, we used cytoscape.js. In fact, we originally developed cytoscape.js to help create GeneMANIA.

Dear Gary,

Thanks much for your response. I have a new software developer job related to research in the area of the immune system and need to create an immune network/graph of cells or cytokines. I can start very basic.

As someone new to using cytoscape.js, do you know of any code tutorials, code examples, or resources(like GeneMANIA) that may help me do what I'm trying to do? The best tutorial Ive been able to find is: http://blog.js.cytoscape.org/2016/05/24/getting-started/
It is basic though. My background is software engineering, but not biology or immunology as much. Any help or cytoscape.js related resources would be greatly appreciated and I'd cite you or GeneMANIA appropriately.

I'm very impressed with cytoscape.js, and the type of tools that can come from using it like GeneMANIA.

Best,
Juan
