Probem with no dates

my families) . It worked great, except that it seems to need dates to
get the generations right. The oldest ancestor I only know by name.
Some of my cousins only sent their kids names, with no birth dates.
All those show up at the top of my Geneaquilt. I should have the
oldest ancestor alone at the top, with his kids in the next block, but
it actually has about a dozen people in the top section.
And it also lacks the surnames of people. Everybody occurs with first
names only. This might be a gedcom problem, but it makes the
identification of who is who impossible. I have used lots of gedcom
viewers and different genealogy programs but never had problems with
this before.

the 'basic' gedcom and surpress the formatting. The basic gedcom
corrects the generational layout, and surpressing the formatting fixes
the lack of surnames.
Anybody who uses Legacy and has problems should try it.
I found some duplicates that I had not found previously and imaginary
'Unknown' spouses which must have resulted from merges.
