Tuesday last, at Calder Hall near Egremont, John FRYEARS, Esq. greatly respected and beloved by his acquaintances: and on Thursday his remains were interred with suitable solemnity, attended by a great concourse of people, at Ponsonby Church.

Yesterday se'ennight, at Newcastle, Capt. HUNTER, one of the elder brethren of the Trinity-house, and possest of such amiable qualities as render his death sincerely regretted.
[According to the Newcastle Courant, Capt. Matthew HUNTER died on Monday (11th May) aged 44; he was also Master of the Phipps Tender of the port of Newcastle. According to FamilySearch, Matthew HUNTER was buried on 13 May 1778 at All Saints, Newcastle upon Tyne.]
At Cutherstone, in Yorkshire, Peter ALLISON, one of the people called Quakers. His amazing ingenuity in constructing philosophical and astronomical machines, were all superlative. ---He was a faithful guardian, a fast friend, a chearful companion, and an honest man.

Sunday morning, at Workington, Mary WINSTANDLEY, wife of Edward WINSTANDLEY, carrier betwixt Workington and Whitehaven: also died the Monday before, Elizabeth WINSTANDLEY, his daughter, in the 16th year of her age.
