At Crosscannonby, on the 11th inst., Mr. John MILLICAN, plumber, to Mary CREEVY, both of Maryport.

 

At Whitehaven—Mr. J. SIM, grocer, to Betsy, daughter, of Capt. FLETCHER.

At Kirkby Ireleth, Mr. Wm. FOULSHAW, of Cark, in Cartmel, to Miss Sarah BENSON, of the workhouse, in Kirkby. The bridegroom has entered his 79th year, and is extremely decrepid and infirm. This is the fourth time he has dared to enter into the Hymeneal yoke. He has been well known in the country for the last 40 years as an intinerant [sic] badger, and dealer in house sand and tup horns, travelling with a team of four donkeys. His bride is between 20 and 30.

AHA! Another new term for this Colonial. Tup horns are used to make the curved handles of shepherds' crooks.
