Yesterday se'ennight at the Quaker-Meeting at the Height, Mr. JENKINSON, of Yealra, near Lancaster, to Miss HALL, daughter of Benjamin HALL, Esq. of Newton near Cartmell.

[According to the Quaker Register, John JENKINSON of Yealand, Lancashire, yeoman, Son of Michael JENKINSON late of Yealand, deceased, & Ruth his wife, deceased; and Margaret HALL, Daughter of Benjamin HALL of Newton, Lancashire, yeoman, & Elizabeth his Wife; married 14 Sep 1778 at Height, Lancashire.]

 

Last week, Mr. Joseph MOSSOP, of Pear Ling in this county, to Miss LEWTHWAITE at the Paper Mills near Egremont.

[According to FamilySearch, Joseph MOSCROP and Isabella LEWTHWAITE married on 13 Sep 1778 at St. Bees.]

 

Last Thursday, at Workington, by the Rev. Mr. ADDISON, Capt. Henry HAYSTON, to Miss Peggy MASON, a handsome young Lady with a very large fortune.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Henry HAYSTON, mariner, and Margaret MASON married on 17 Sep 1778 at Workington. According to the Marriage Bond, he was aged 24, and she was Margaret MAYSON, Spinster, aged 30, both of Workington.]

 

DIED

 

Sunday, at Darmonsteads [sic - Dormanstead in Stapleton parish], Mr. James JACKSON, aged 23, of a lingering and painful illness.

[According to FamilySearch, he was buried on 16 Sep 1778 at Stapleton. According to an MI in Stapleton Churchyard, James, son of John & Ann JACKSON of Dormansteads died 13 Sep 1778 aged 23.]

 

Tuesday se'nnight, at Edinburgh, Mr. Robert FLEMING, printer there.

[According to ScotlandsPeople, he died (or was buried?) on 10 Sep 1778 in Edinburgh Parish.]

 

Monday se'ennight in Newcastle, Mr. MILLER, occulist.

[According to FamilySearch, Philip MILLER was buried on 16 Sep 1778 at St. Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne.]

 

A few days ago, at Stavely in Westmorland, Mr. Benjamin FARRER, an eminent shoemaker, in the prime of life, and greatly respected by his acquaintances.

[According to FamilySearch, he was buried on 14 Sep 1778 at Staveley or Kendal.]
