MARRIED.

 

A few days ago at Lamplugh, Mr. Richard RAMSEY of Cockermouth to Mrs. Margaret DAVISON of Lamplugh: their ages together amount to 163 years.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, the bride's name was Martha DAVISON; they married on 23 Jul 1777 at Lamplugh. According to the Marriage Bond, Richard RAMSAY was aged 62 and a Blacksmith; Martha DAVISON was aged 64 and a widow.]

 

Last week at Wigton, Mr. Hugh SMITH of that place to Miss FISHER of Bolton Gate.

[According to FamilySearch, Hugh SMITH, aged 31, and Mary FISHER, aged 26, both single, married on 24 Jul 1777 at Wigton.]

 

DIED.

 

The 27th of May last at St. John's in Antigua, Mr. George LEWTHWAITE, brother of Mr. William LEWTHWAITE of Broadgate in this county.

 

Wednesday last, much respected, Mr. Jacob SATERTHWAITE of Gosforth, in an advanced age, after a long illness; he was a kind and affectionate Parent, a true Friend, an excellent Neighbour, and the best of Husbands; always preparing for Death, at his dying moments he had only to say, "Lord, unto thy Hands I commend my Spirit."

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Jacob SATTERTHWAITE of Seascale was buried on 01 Aug 1777 at Gosforth.]

 

Last week, Mrs. WHITE, widow of the late Mr. WHITE, Shipbuilder in this town.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Mary WHITE, aged 60, was buried on 30 Jul 1777 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven.]
