Tuesday last, at Allonby, Mrs. WAIT, in the 82d year of her age; an old inhabitant of this town, and greatly respected by her acquaintances.

 

Wednesday last at Cockley Gill in Lamplugh, Mr. Jonathan BOWMAN, aged 100 years: he enjoyed remarkably good health till almost the hour of his death.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, he was buried on 28 Mar 1777 at Lamplugh.]

 

Same day, after a long illness, Mrs. THOMSON of Prestonhowes, near this town.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Mary THOMPSON, wife of Henry of Preston How, was buried on 27 Mar 1777 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]

 

Same day, Mrs. Esther ANGUS of this town.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Esther ANGUS, wife of Alexander, aged 26, was buried on 27 Mar 1777 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven.]
