Wednesday se'ennight, at Edderside, in Holme Cultram, Mr. George JEFFERSON, aged 66 years; much lamented as a kind and indulgent parent, a faithful friend, and consequently a good neighbour.
[According to the Quaker Register, he died on 12 Mar 1777, and was buried on 15 Mar 1777 in the Quaker Burying-Ground at Allonby.]
Thursday last in this town, Mrs. ROOKE of Strand-street, aged 68 years; she was apparently well at ten o'clock, about eleven was taken ill, and died in a few minutes.
[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Sarah ROOK, wife of Joseph, aged 60, was buried on 15 Mar 1777 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven.]
Friday se'ennight, Miss WARD of Morpeth, heiress of the late Edward WARD, Esq.
[According to FamilySearch, Isable WARD, daughter of Edward WARD, was buried on 12 Mar 1777 at Morpeth.]
Saturday last, in the 88th year of his age, the Rev. Mr. BAXTER, sen. of Arlecdon; upwards of 50 years curate of that place; a man of very fair character, and greatly respected by his parishioners.
