On Saturday last, at Penrith, Mr. Musgrave LEWTHWAITE, to Miss Isabella MILLIGAN. Same place, Mr. Peter GILLIN, to Miss Isabella WINTER. Same place, Mr. John ABBOTT, to Miss Patience SIMPSON—all of Penrith.

 

At Cumrew, on Wednesday last, Mr. CANT, grocer, of Penrith, to Miss GIBSON, of Cumrew.

 

On the 2d instant, at Kirkhaugh, by the Rev. B. JACKSON, rector, William LEE, Esq., of Hawkuplee, to Mrs. HODGSON.

At Brigham, Mr. John SHARP, to Miss Hannah DOVER, both of Cockermouth. Same place, Mr. Wm. BURROWS Agricola, to Miss Ann POSTLETHWAITE. [According to the Copeland Registers Index, William BURROWS and Ann POSTLETHWAITE, both of Embleton, married on 24 May 1825 at Embleton (not at Brigham).]

May 31, at St. Marylebone Church, the Hon. Edw. Geoffrey STANLEY, M.P. eldest son of Lord STANLEY, and grandson of the Earl of Derby, to Emma Caroline, second daughter of Edward Bootle WILBRAHAM, Esq. M. P. of Lathom House, Lancashire.

 

At Kirk Braddan, Isle of Man, Mr. Edw. QUAYLE, master of the Lady Elizabeth of Douglas, to Miss Catherine CURPHEY, milliner, of that town. William TOBIN, Esq. of Middle, to Miss Sarah LING, of Ballashamrock.

 

Henry John PYE, Esq. of Pinner, Midddlesex [sic], to Mary Ann, third daughter of Wm. WALKER, Esq. of Everley Lodge, Herts, and late of Swinnow-Park, near Wetherby.

 

On the 31st ult. at the Friends' Meeting House, Swarthmore, Wm. WHITE, of Glasgow, merchant, to Jane, eldest daughter of Thos. BROCKBANK, Ulverston.

 

DEATHS.

 

January 17, at Poonah, in the East Indies, deeply and justly lamented, Elizabeth, wife of James FARISH, Esq. of Bombay, and eldest daughter of Rowland FAWCETT, Esq. of Scaleby Castle, in the 29th year of her age.

 

In Scotch-street, on Tuesday last, after a lingering illness, Mr. Henry Geo. THOMPSON, aged 24, student of medicine, son of the late Mr. THOMPSON, surgeon in this City, sincerely regretted.

 

Since our last, Mr. Henry DONLEY, of Brown's-row, aged 19. Mrs. Jane CROSBY, of the Harker, 71.

 

At Browndikes, in the parish of Scaleby, after a long and severe illness, Mrs. Jane SUTTON, aged 45.

 

At Penrith, on Monday last, Mr. Jonathan DIXON, aged 66. Same day and place, Elizabeth, wife of Mr. John ELLIOTT, aged 45.

 

On Monday the 23d ult., at Wigton, Mr. W. PATTINSON, aged 62.

 

In King-street, Whitehaven, in the 35th year of his age, Mr. Timothy MORTON, drum-major of the Royal Cumberland Militia. The deceased was a man of very considerable musical attainments, and universally respected in the regiment. His remains were interred with military honours.

 

At Whitehaven, in the 18th year of her age, Jane, youngest daughter of Mr. T. MERRIE, ship-carpenter.

 

At Harrington, shortly after giving birth to a child, Elizabeth, wife of Mr. Richard JAMES, ship-carpenter, aged 37.

 

At Cockermouth, Mrs. Sarah THOMPSON, wife of Mr. Jonathan THOMPSON, advanced in life. Mrs. Dorothy WOOD, relict of the late Mr. H. WOOD, 80.

 

At Wesco, parish of Greystoke, Mr. Chris. WETHERAL.

 

On the 4th December, 1824, in India, Capt. Robert CALVERT, of the 41st. N. I. Madras Establishment.

 

At Kendal, aged 86, Mrs. CARTMELL, relict of Mr. Thomas CARTMELL. Aged 85 years, Joseph SWAINSON, Esq. of that town.

 

At Mr. James BROWNRIGG's, Kendal, John STEWARTSON, of Witherslack, schoolmaster. Wm. THOMPSON, of Hawes, near Kendal, aged 65.

 

At Langlands, parish of Dornock, in the 18th year of his age, Mr. Robert BELL, eldest son of Mr. John BELL, farmer of Langlands.

 

May 28, Henry ROWSON, Esq. of Preston.

 

At his cottage near Newcastle-upon Tyne, in his 71st year, Sir Cuthbert HERON, Bart.

 

At Tinwald Mains, on Sunday last, Miss Janet HUTCHISON, second daughter of Mr. Thomas HUTCHISON, farmer there, aged 17 years.

 

Lately, at Dalkeith, aged 26, Katherine, wife of James ALEXANDER, Esq., and daughter of the late Dr. GRAHAM, of Dalkeith.

 

At Dumfries, on the 22nd ult., in the 75th year of her age. Mary, daughter of the late John JOHNSTON, Esq. formerly Provost of Annan:—she was long the favourite sister and confidential friend of the late Dr. Bryce JOHNSTON, minister of Holywood, and the last survivor of her father's family.

 

At Deal, on the 20th ult. Henry M'CULLOCH, Esq. brother of John M'CULLOCH, Esq. of Barholme, in the the [sic] County of Galloway, and of Capt. M'CULLOCH, of his Majesty's ship Ramilies.

 

On the 23d ult. in Russell-square, suddenly, aged fifteen, deeply lamented by her family and friends, Marrianne, youngest daughter of John Green PALEY, Esq. of Bowling, Yorkshire.

 

May 31st, at his house in James-Street, London, aged 82, George CHALMERS, Esq. F.R.S. and S.A. Chief Clerk of the Office of Privy Council for Trade and Plantations, author of Caledonia, and other works.

 

At Douglas, Isle of Man, Mr. John HANCOCK, aged 38. Mr. John PERRY, painter, aged 38. Mrs. Cath. BAILIFF, confectioner, aged 45.
