DIED,
On Saturday the 11th, Robert Henry, infant son of Alexander STEWART, Esq. 2nd or R. N. B. Dragoons.
On Thursday last, at Dockray Hall, Penrith, Mrs. Mary MITCHEL, in the 94th year of her age: in her character, true piety was united to urbanity of manners and a naturally amiable disposition. She retained all her faculties to the last; and after setting, through her extended life, a most excellent example, this venerable lady departed (in humble hope of a happy resurrection) much lamented by her numerous relatives and friends.
At Unerigg, near Maryport, Mr. John FALCON, late schoolmaster at the latter place.
At Maryport, on the 14th instant, Mr. CHARLES, innkeeper. Same day and place, Capt. James LOWDEN, of the brig Ann, very much respected.
At Richmond Hill, near Whitehaven, Eleanor, wife of Mr. James SPROULE, and daughter of the late Capt. GRAYSON, aged 44.
At his son's house, in Queen-street, Whitehaven, Mr. Joseph ARMSTRONG, of Lowther, aged 65. He had been in the service of the LOWTHER family 51 years.
At Whitehaven, Mary, wife of Mr. Joseph LEWTHWAITE, Ginns, aged 44. Mr. Jos. ARMSTRONG, Wind-mill-brow, aged 67. David HETHERINGTON, Charles-street, aged 58.
At Egremont, Jane, daughter of Mr. Joseph MOSSOP, butcher, aged 37.
At Workington, Mrs. Margaret M'HOLMES, aged 41. Mr. Francis ANDERSON, aged 55.
At Ravenglass, in her 58th year, Mrs. Elizabeth THOMPSON, wife of Mr. John THOMPSON.
At Kendal, Harriet, wife of Mr. BELLINGHAM, formerly in the excise.
At Ambleside, on the 8th inst., Mr. John FLEMING, of the White Lion Inn, aged 46.
On the 31st of May, at Mysore, where he had gone for the benefit of change of air, Capt. Jonathan MOORHOUSE, (only son of the late Rev. Jonathan MOORHOUSE, rector of Clifton, in Westmorland,) of the Hon. East India Company's Artillery Service.
At Liverpool, Mr. EWART, a gentleman who has long occupied a prominent station in the commercial world.
On Tuesday, the 7th instant, at his house, Kirkdale, aged 41 years, Mr. James SMITH, printer, of Liverpool.
Suddenly, on Saturday night, while in bed at the house of his brother, Dr. WOOLLASTON, in London, the Rev. Archdeacon WOOLLASTON, aged 60 years.
On Monday, after three days' illness, at Harewood House, aged 20, the Hon. Frederick LASCELLES, sixth son of the Earl and Countess of Harewood.
On the 26th ult., at Boreham, Sussex, Col. John CARNEGIE, brother to the late Sir David CARNEGIE, Bt.
At Dumfries, on Saturday last, Mrs. Agnes BRAND, relict of the late Hr. [sic] Robert RIDDICK, tallow-chandler. Mr. G. SMITH, late Deacon of the Tailor's Incorporation.
At Sanquhar, on the 6th curt. Mr. Edw. WHIGHAM, for several years Provost of that Burgh, aged 74.
At Kirktown of Glenbucket, Christian BENTON, in her hundred and tenth year. She possessed her mental faculties in great perfection to the last.
At Doon-foot Mill, on the 2d. inst., Mr. David WATT, miller, in the 68th year of his age. He was school-fellow with the celebrated Robert BURNS; and was the last person babtised [sic] in "Alloway Kirk."
In Best-street, Chatham, Sophia BROWN, a maiden lady, aged 67. She lived 27 years in the room in which she died, without once having it cleaned; nor would she suffer any one to come near her, until the door was broken open, and she was found in a dreadful state amidst accumulated filth. A considerable sum in gold was discovered in five pockets all on her person.
