At Ponsonby Hall, in this county, on the morning of Wednesday last, the Lady of Edward STANLEY, Esq. of female twins: one is alive, and may do well; the other was still-born. Mrs. STANLEY is not in danger.

On the 7th inst. Mr. Benjamin HOLMES, many years Landlord of the Grapes Inn, in this city, aged 71 years.

 

In Castle-st., in this City, Mrs. ARMSTRONG, aged 37.

 

On Sunday last, at Moorhouse, aged 54, Elizabeth, the wife of Mr. Wm. STORDY, after an illness of a few weeks, aged 54 years.

 

On the 1st inst. at Rockliff, aged 42, Margaret, wife of Mr. Wm. RAILTON, parish clerk of that place; respected and deeply lamented by all who knew her. She has left four children to bewail their loss.

 

On Wednesday last, at Melkinthorpe, near Penrith, Mr. Thomas LAYCOCK, aged 86.

 

At Maryport, on the 8th inst. Mr. Joshua Whiteside FAYTON, aged 47.

 

Suddenly, in Queen-street, Whitehaven, Miss Susanna HUTCHINSON, one of the Society of Friends, in the 32d year of her age.

Last week, at Boroughbridge, in her 18th year, the wife of S. S. BYRON, Esq., of Scarborough: she was married on the 23d of Sept. and her death took place on the 28th!

On the 4th August, on board his Majesty's brig Thetis, in the 17th year of his age, Henry, second son of Charles LITTLEDALE, Esq. of Portland-place.

 

At Chelsea, on the 29th ult. after a short illness, Henry COOPER, Esq. barrister.

 

Aug. 11, at Gastoni, in Greece, Lord Charles MURRAY. His remains were interred there.

 

At Laguna-de-Terminos, Gulph of Mexico, in May last, in his 31st year, Capt. Isaac PEART, of the ship Shannon, of London, third son of Mr. PEART, postmaster of North Shields. The captain and crew (16 in number) were barbarously murdered by pirates, and the ship burned. A piratical schooner was shortly afterwards taken off the coast of Tobago, by H. M. ship Parthian, Hon. Captain BARRINGTON, and Cap. PEART's spy-glass and writing desk were found on board, together with a number of flags, sextants, and a quantity of wearing apparel, some of which, it is supposed, the unfortunate crew must have had on at the time of their capture, as the clothes were much marked with blood. The letter-bag of another ship, called the Pilgrim, of Greenock, was also found, which vessel is supposed to have shared the same fate as the Shannon.
