DEATHS.

 

This week: Jane CLARK, Willow-holme, aged 22. Mr. William SCOTT, Botchergate, aged 68. Mrs. Catherine BLEVINS, Botchergate, aged 66.

 

On Monday last, at Cargo-Hill, Mrs. ARMSTRONG, aged 89, relict of the late Mr. ARMSTRONG, of Shaws. [According to the Parish Register Transcript, Mary ARMSTRONG, of Cargo-hill, aged 88, was buried on 26 Jan 1826 at Stanwix.]

 

At Maryport:—On the 21st inst., in King-street, Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. Robert FLETCHER, in the 12th year of her age.—On Monday last, Moses, son of John DONALDSON, in the 6th year of his age. His death was occasioned by falling on the ice.—Same day, Thompson, son of Anthony DICKSON, in the 4th year of his age.—On Tuesday last, in High-street, Mrs. DUNN, wife of Mr. DUNN, at an advanced age.

 

In Duke-street, Whitehaven, on Saturday, Mary, the wife of Mr. Tristram MIRRIE, shipwright, aged 56. In Michael-street, in the 70th year of his age, Mr. Joseph DOBINSON, pencil-maker. David THOMPSON, Ginns, aged 70. Thomas TREMBLE, Mount Pleasant, aged 98. Francis FORD, White-lane, aged 78. Agnes SLOAN, Ginns, aged 63.—At Harrington, Mr. Joseph JACKSON, boatswain-rigger, aged 74.

 

On the 10th inst. at Armaside, near Cockermouth, Joseph HOSKINS, Esq. one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Cumberland, aged 72.

 

At Cockermouth, Mr. Richard WILKINSON, brewer, 53. Mr. Hugh BEEBY, formerly mercer and draper, aged 32. On Saturday last, Mr. John THURSBY, skinner, aged 66.

 

Suddenly, on Sunday evening the 15th inst. at Seatoller, Borrowdale, Mrs. Sarah BRAGG, in her 74th year, relict of the late Mr. Henry BRAGG. At Longmoor, Kinneyside, suddenly, Mr. Robert STEELE, at an advanced age. At Dearham, on the 15th, Mrs. Margt. JOHNSON, aged 79.

 

At Mirehouse, near Keswick, Mr. Wm. GARDNER.

 

At Hackney, near London, in the 44th year of his age, Joseph, eldest son of Mr. Henry THOMPSON, King-street, Whitehaven.

 

On Wednesday week, at Kendal, John Fell, SWAINSON, Esq. of that town, Lieutenant in the Kendal Troop of Yeomanry Cavalry. On Thursday, after a short illness, Ann, wife of Mr. B. HAYTON, spirit merchant, of Kendal, aged 32. Last week, Mrs. FENTON, wife of Mr. FENTON, late post-master, of Kendal.

 

Friday morning, at the Greyhound Inn, Shap, Mr. Joseph RICHARDSON, aged 61.

 

At Kirkby Stephen, on the 19th inst. Mrs. JEFFERSON, wife of Mr. JEFFERSON, at an advanced age.

 

At Annan, on the 19th inst. Thomas SHORT, to Miss Mary MACNAMARA, both of Maryport.

 

The Rev. Thomas POOLEY, vicar of Thornton, in Lonsdale, in the West Riding of York, aged 70.

 

At Lancaster, aged 75, Mrs. Agnes HOLMES, late of Ellergill, parish of Orton, Westmorland.

 

On Friday se'nnight, at his seat at Haslewood Hall, near Leeds, aged 80, Sir Thomas VAVASOUR, Bart. He was the second son of Sir Walter and his lady, Dorothy, eldest daughter of the Lord LANGDALE, of the Holme, and succeeded his brother, Sir Walter, in 1802.

 

Suddenly, last week, at Rolleston, Stafford, of spasms in the stomach, the eldest daughter of Sir Oswald MOSELEY, Bart., aged 19 years.

 

On the 20th inst. at the Parsonage, in Walton-le-dale, after a very short illness, having performed part of the service at his church, on Sunday week, the Rev. Edmund Strengfellow RADCLIFFE, L. L. B. aged 52, incumbent of the two perpetual curacies of Walton-le-dale and Burnley, Lancashire.

 

At the Vicarage, in Newcastle, on the 22d inst. the Rev. John SMITH, A. M. vicar of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and master of the hospital of St. Mary Magdalene, in the same town, in the 61st year of his age.

 

At Moffat, on Friday last, Miss HARKNESS, of Mitchellslacks.

 

At Dumfries, on the 15th inst. after a long and lingering illness, in the prime of life, Mr. Wm. WEIR. On the 20th inst. Mr. Wm. CRAIG, currier, aged 42.

 

At Richmond, Surrey, on the 10th inst. Sir David DUNDAS, Bart. serjeant surgeon to the King.

 

On the 18th inst. in London, Mr. Jos. MESSENGER, 64.

 

On the 3d inst. Marshal SUCHET, Duke of Albufera, who cut a conspicuous figure in the wars of Buonaparte.

 

Mr. Daniel DICKINSON, master of the Mary Isabella, of Whitehaven, was unfortunately drowned at Dublin a few days ago. He was walking along a plank extending from the vessel to the pier, when his foot slipped, and he fell into the water; and although assistance was upon the spot, the endeavours to rescue him proved unavailing.
