Last week at Aspatria, by the Rev. Mr. HODGSON, Mr. DONALD of Hayton, to Miss STROUGHTON, an agreeable young lady with a fortune of 2,000 l.

Same place, Mr. SIM of Outerside, to Miss CAPE of Aspatria.

A few days ago at Dumfries, Capt. George WILLIAMS of the Catherine, of this port, to Miss GRAY of that place.

[According to ScotlandsPeople, the bride's forename was Jannet, and they married on 22 Dec 1777 at Dumfries.]

 

DIED

 

A few days ago at Lancaster, the Rev. Mr. SPICER, one of the curates of the parish church, and incumbent of Stalming near that place, in the nomination of the Rev. Doctor MARTON.

[According to the Parish Register, The Revd. John SPICER, Clk. late Curate of Lancaster, was buried on 29 Dec 1777 at St. Mary, Lancaster.]

 

Tuesday last, at Soudam near Egremont, Mrs. Margaret ROBINSON, aged 97 years; she has left 31 grandchildren, and 26 great-grand children.
