Tuesday last at Penrith, by the Rev. Mr. COOPER, Mr. Thomas COOKSON, merchant, to Miss SCOTT of the same place.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Thomas COOKSON, Batchelor & Grocer, and Milcah SCOTT, spinster, both of this Parish, married on 03 Feb 1778 at St. Andrew, Penrith.]

 

Last week, at Egremont, Mr. Thomas FORSYTH of Glenluce in Scotland, to Miss WOODALL, of Egremont.

Sunday se'ennight at Peele-town (Isle of Man) greatly regretted and in the prime of life, Mrs. CHRISTIAN, the lady of John CHRISTIAN of Unerigg, Esq. and daughter of John TAUBMAN, Esq. of the Isle of Man.

[According to Manx National Heritage, Margaret CHRISTIAN alias TAUBMAN of Unerigg was buried on 06 Feb 1778 at Malew.]

 

A few days ago, at Castletown (Isle of Man) after a lingering illness, the Rev. Mr. FIELD.

[According to Manx National Heritage, Revd. John FIELD of Ireland was buried on 15 Jan 1778 at Malew.]

 

Friday last, in Lowther-street, Mr. Anthony MARSHALL, in the 67th year of his age.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, he was buried on 08 Feb 1778 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]

 

A few days ago at Rothiemay, in Scotland, Janet CRAIG in the 110th year of her age: she was never four miles from the place of her nativity.

 

At West Micrass, George SYMON, aged 109 years.

 

Lately at Piersebridge, in the county of Durham, Mary HILDRAY, aged 107; she had been a tenant to the RABY family between 80 and 90 years.

 

Yesterday week, at Penrith, Mr. Peter JAMES, inn-keeper in that place.

Wednesday last, Mr. Lawrence SINGLETON, many years in the brewery of Messrs. SPEDDINGs & Co. in this town.

Tuesday, at Sowerby near Hallifax, the birth-place of Archbishop TILLOTSON, Mr. John TILLOTSON, aged 74, great nephew to the Archbishop, and the last of the male line of that ancient family.
