Lately by the Rev. Mr. MARSHALL, at Eskdale, Mr. Isaac TYSON, shoe-maker, to Miss Martha DIXON, both of Birkerthwaite.

Same place, Mr. George TYSON of Troughthall, to Miss HARTLEY of the afore-mentioned Birkerthwaite.

Last week, at Liverpool, Mr. WHITESIDE, ironmonger in Lancaster, to Miss E. CAPSTICK of the same place.

[According to the Parish Register, Robert WHITESIDE of the Parish of Lancaster, Ironmonger, and Elizabeth CAPSTICK of the Parish of Liverpool, a Minor, married on 28 Oct 1779 at St. Thomas, Liverpool.]

 

Lately, John DAWSON, Esq. of Gill near Greystock, to Miss Mary ATKINSON of Newchurch.

 

Yesterday at St. Bees Church, William DIXON, soldier in the Durham militia, to Sarah SCOTT, of the Globe Inn, King-street. They were attended by a great number of people on horseback, who on their return to town, put many of His Majesty's liege subjects in bodily fear, by riding furiously through the streets. Several musquets were fired on the occasion, and upon the whole it may be said that no union of the kind, for many years past, has made more noise.

Wednesday last in Roper-street, Mrs. ROCHFORT, in an advanced age, greatly respected.

Saturday last, at Egremont, Mrs. Joyce HUTCHINSON, widow.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Joyce HUTCHINSON of Egremont was buried on 01 Nov 1779 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]

 

On the 20th inst. at Berwick, Dr. Walter RIDDELL, Physician at that place, after an illness of eight days only, in the 28th year of his age, universally and sincerely lamented.
