Tuesday last, at the Old Church, the Rev. Mr. BAXTER of Arlecdon, to Miss FRYEARS of Salter Hall near this town.

Friday, at Bridekirk, Mr. Philip FLETCHER of Tallentyre, to Miss CLARKE of Buttermire.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Philip FLETCHER of Bridekirk, aged 19, and Esther CLARK of Lorton, aged 22, married on 05 Nov 1779 at Bridekirk.]

 

A few days ago at the Temple of Hymen (Gretna Green) the Rev. Mr. BRUCE of Uldale in this county, to Miss Nanny SHARPE of Dearham.

[According to FamilySearch, Robert BRUCE and Ann BRUCE married again on 13 Dec 1779 at Uldale.]

 

Sunday last, at Brigham, by the Rev. Mr. DIXON, Mr. Thomas ROBINSON of Mosser, aged 60, to Miss Hannah DOCKRAY of the same place, just entered into her 20th year.

DIED

 

At Penrith the 14th of October, in the 83d year of his age, the Rev. Mr. NOBLE, formerly of Queen's College, Oxford, and upwards of 50 years rector of Croglin: In whose character the able and persuasive preacher was happily united with the polite and accomplished gentleman. He laboured many years under the most excruciating pain of the stone, which he bore with all the fortitude of the christian hero.

Sunday, very suddenly, in Irish-street, Mrs. Elinor NICOLAS, Aged 61.
