MARRIED.

 

At Carlisle, Mr. RAINE, a capita [sic] bleacher at Denton-mill, to Miss LITTLE; an agreeable young lady, with a handsome portion.

[According to FamilySearch, Thomas KAINE or KAIN and Mary LITTLE married on 13 Jun 1778 at St. Mary, Carlisle.]

 

Last week at Wigton, Mr. John SANDERSON, Grocer, to Mrs. Jane SHEPHERD, inn-keeper.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, John SANDERSON, widower, and Jane SHEPHERD, widow, both of this parish, married on 10 Jun 1778 at Wigton.]

 

DIED

 

On the 21st ult. at Potzdam, aged 84, George [surname: KEITH] Earl Marshal, Governor of Neufchatel, and elder brother of Field Marshal KEITH, who fell commanding the right wing of the Prussian army October 14, 1758. The Earl joined in the rebellion 1715, and his estate and honours were forfeited by an act of attainder in 1716. The family have ever since resided abroad.

 

Yesterday se'ennight in Quay-street, Robert WILKINSON, of Prestonhows, Esq. aged 73.

Last week at Oulton near Wigton, Mr. J. BARWISE, in the 43d year of his age.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Thomas BARWIS, Taylor, Oulton, aged 43, was buried on 14 Jun 1778 at Wigton.]

 

At Moorhouse, near Wigton, Mrs. Eliza HINDE.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Elisabeth wife of William HIND, weaver, Moorhouse, aged 80, was buried on 14 Jun 1778 at Wigton.]

 

Last week at Downthwaite near Wigton, Mr. J. RICHARDSON in an advanced age.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, John RICHARDSON, Low Longthwaite, Householder, aged 87, was buried on 15 Jun 1778 at Wigton.]
