DEATHS.

 

On Tuesday last, in Fisher-street, in this City, much respected, Ninian DUNLOP, aged 52 years, formerly a Serjeant in his Majesty's service, in which capacity he served under Sir Ralph ABERCROMBIE in Egypt, and was near that gallant officer when he fell. The deceased in the same battle lost one of his legs, in consequence of which he was discharged upon a pension. During several years of the latter part of his life he filled a confidential situation in the manufactory of Messrs. Peter DIXON and Sons of this City, whom he served with exemplary fidelity. He was a man of a strong and well informed mind, unbending integrity, and exalted piety. The sacred volume he had for many years regarded as the daily nourishment of his soul; and on his death-bed he enjoyed a solid peace and serenity of mind, and a full assurance of a blissful immortality through the merits of the Saviour in whom he believed. "Mark the perfect man and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace."

 

Last week, at Crosby-upon Eden, Mr. Arthur BATEY, at a very advanced age.

 

On Monday last, at Cumwhinton, Mr. John THOMPSON, brother of Dr. THOMPSON of Aglionby, (formerly of this city,) advanced in years.

 

On Tuesday, at High Pow, in the parish of St. Cuthbert's, Mr. James KIRKBRIDE, aged 68.

 

At Brampton, on Sunday last, Joseph, son of Mr. Wm. ROUTLEDGE, Tallow-chandler, aged 32.

 

At Penrith, on the 16th inst. Miss Jane BROWN, 36.

 

At Brougham Hall, the seat of H. BROUGHAM, Esq. M. P. on Monday last, suddenly, and on her journey from London to Scotland, Lady F. E. ELLIOTT, sister of Lord Minto, in the prime of life.

 

On Tuesday last, at Harrington, Mr. John CAIRD.

 

At Maryport, on the 15th inst., Richard PEARSON,  mariner, aged 53. Same day, suddenly, Jessie, wife of Mr. John NEILSON, deputy harbour master.

 

In Lowther-st., Whitehaven, Mr. T. HARRISON, clerk in the Bank of Mess. HARDEY & Co. aged 34. In Queen-street, aged 40, Daniel, son of the late Jonathan BROWN, Esq. of Jamaica. In Middle Church-street, Mrs. FELL, mother of the Misses FELL, milliners, advanced in years. In Peter-street, Mr. John HADWIN, aged 84. On the 13th inst. at the House of Wm. GRANT, Esq. Springside, near Bury, in the 75th year of her age, Elizabeth, relict of the late Mr. Nicholas THOMPSON, merchant, of Whitehaven.

 

At Egremont, Mr. Edward STAINTON, aged 35.

 

On Saturday last, at Workington, Captain George SIMPSON, of the brig Tolson, aged 35.

 

Lately, Mr. Nichol WILLIAMSON, of Moorend, Ennerdale, aged 79.

 

At Appleby, on the 14th instant, after a tedious illness, Miss Grace RENNISON, aged 21. Same place, on Sunday last, Mrs. Ellen LAWSON, aged 86. Same place, on Monday last, Mr. Robert SMITH, innkeeper, aged 85.

 

At Guisborough, in his 92d year, John HARRISON, Esq. one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the North Riding of Yorkshire.

 

At the Manse of Gladsmuir, on the 6th inst. Elizabeth, wife of the Rev. Dr. Geo. HAMILTON.

 

Sunday morning, at his house in St. James's-square, London, the most noble William BEAUCLERK, eighth Duke of St. Albans, Hereditary Grand Falconer of England, in the sixtieth year of his age; he is succeeded in his titles and estates, by his eldest son, William Aubrey de Vere, Earl of Burford.

 

The Bishop of Quebec (Rev. Dr. MOUNTAIN) died on the 16th. June.

 

At Glentrammon, Isle of Man, John CORLETT, Esq. aged 57. At Baldwin, Mr. Gilnoo QUINE, aged 72.
