BIRTHS.

 

On the 4th inst. at the Vicarage, White Waltham, county of Berks, the Lady of the Rev. Wm. VANSITTART, Prebendary of our Cathedral, of a Son.

 

At Stonehouse, on the 7th instant, the Lady of Lieut.-Colonel Sir Hew ROSS, K. C. B. of a Son.

 

At Society Hall, Edinburgh, on the 26th July, Mrs. John TAWSE, of a Daughter.

 

MARRIAGES.

 

At Philpstown House, near Edinburgh, by the Rev. Professor MICKLEJOHN, D. D., John FAWCETT, of the middle Temple, London, Esq. eldest son of the Rev. John FAWCETT, of this city, to Catherine, only daughter of the late John HINCHCLIFF Esq., of Burley Grove, near Leeds.

 

At St. Cuthbert's, in this City, on Saturday last, Mr. Thomas FISHER, to Miss Mary HARRISON.

 

At Wigton, Mr. JAMES, of Chalkside, to Mary, only daughter of Mr. R. RICKERBY, of the former place.

 

On Saturday the 6th inst. by the Bishop of Gretna, Mr. John FLETCHER, of the parish of Brigham, Cockermouth, to Miss Mary SWAN, of the same place; also, Mr. John QUAY, to Miss Eleanor FLETCHER, all from the above place. On the 9th inst. Christopher Puxton CAY, Esq. of Bishopwearmouth, Durham, to Miss Louisa VIDLER, of the parish of St. John's, Millbank-Row, Westminster, daughter of John VIDLER, Esq.

 

On Monday last, at Crosthwaite church, Mr. BIRKETT, of Borrowdale, to Miss DIXON, of the same place.

 

A few days ago, at Appleby, Mr. Thomas WILSON, cooper, to Miss Mary WILKINSON, straw-hat maker.

 

DEATHS.

 

Since our last, Mrs. Mary BEWLEY, of Upperby, aged 65 years. Mr. John KING, of Ritson's Lane, aged 25. Miss Elizabeth BRICE, of Cummersdale Mill, aged 28. Mrs. Margaret DIXON, of Castle-street, aged 63 years.

 

At Penrith, on Friday se'nnight, Richard Wyville COUPLAND, Esq. of Netherend, aged 47. Same place, on Wednesday last, Mary, wife of Mr. James SCOTT, plumber and glazier, and youngest daughter of Mr. John NOBLE, of the Bell and Bullock Inn, aged 33.

 

On Tuesday last, after a short illness, Mr. David BARNFATHER, of Garthside, near Brampton.

 

At Hastings, on Sunday last, aged 17, Susan, eldest daughter of the late Mr. BLAMIRE, of London, after a long illness, borne with the most exemplary patience and pious resignation.

 

On Thursday last, Mr. John PENNY, of Wardle-hall, near Gilcrux, advanced in years.

 

On Saturday last, at Crosscanonby, near Maryport, after a lingering illness, Mr. Jacob WALKER, in the prime of life, one of the Society of Friends.

 

On Monday last, at Maryport, Margaret, daughter of Mr. R. SOLE, one of the Society of Friends, aged 5 years. On Sunday, Mr. Henry SKINNER, aged 70, many years a recruiting sergeant. On Thursday, Mrs. THOMPSON, widow of the late Mr. T. who died about two months ago.

 

At Millbeck, near Keswick, Mr. Jonah CORRIE, advanced in years. At Keswick, Mr. Christopher LANCASTER, aged 77.

 

On the 5th inst., at Ulthank, parish of Skelton, in the prime of life, Mary, daughter of Joseph COWPER, Esq., in whom her poor neighbours have lost a kind and benevolent friend.

 

At Langrigg, Mrs. BRISCO, relict of William BRISCO, Esq. aged 71.

 

A few days ago, at Langton, near Appleby, at a very advanced age, Mr. Francis LEDGWICK.

 

On Saturday last at St. Benet's, Gracechurch, London, John RICHARDS, Esq. of Kendal, Westmorland to Margaretta, eldest daughter of the late William BRETTARGH, Esq. of Liverpool.

 

At Bishopwearmouth, on Monday last, in the prime of manhood, John Henry JOHNSON, Esq. Senior Capt. of the North York Militia.

 

On the 28th ult., James TAYLOR, Esq. of Elliesland, Dumfries-shire, brother to the late John TAYLOR, Esq. Liverpool.

 

At Ryde, Isle of Wight, Mr. Sergeant LENS.

 

In his 32d year, Sir Fredrick HENNIKER, Bart. of Newton hall, Essex, colonel of the Essex Militia.

 

At Dallington hall, Northampton, Sir J. E. R. MILLER.

 

On the 30th inst. after a procrastinated illness, at his residence, North-side, Clapham Common, Thos. NEWTON, Esq. of Warwick-square. He was many years Agent to the Provincial Press.
