CARLISLE CONSISTORY COURT.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21st.
(Before the Worshipful C. J. BURTON, M.A., Chancellor.)

Protectors present:  MR. SAUL,  MR. HOUGH,  MR. J. G. MOUNSEY.
Registrar:  MR. R. H. MOUNSEY.

PLUMPTON.

In the matter of the Office of Judge, promoted by ROBERT MONKHOUSE and JOHN KIRKBRIDE, against the REV. J. BRUNSKILL, for taking down the pulpit and mailing desk, and the clerk’s desk, and erecting them in another place within the communion rails,  MR. SAUL produced letters which he had received from MR. DOBSON.  In the first of these, dated July 11th, MR. DOBSON said that MR. BRUNSKILL had called upon him, and he (MR. DOBSON) hoped they would be able to see in the next few days whether they could not come to some arrangement that would be for the benefit of all parties.

The second letter from MR. DOBSON was dated October 13th, in which that gentleman wrote:  MR. SAUL now applied to have the name of MR. MONKHOUSE struck out of the cause.  He was no longer one of the chapel wardens, and, moreover, he was a relative of MR. BRUNSKILL’s, and did not wish to proceed. -   The name was struck out, and MR. SAUL intimated that he would file the libel by next Court – the promoters now being MR. JOHN KIRKBRIDE, chapel warden, and MR. SIMPSON, one of the pew holders.
