Sunday se'ennight, at Holme-Cultram, Mr. Joseph PEARSON of Thrushfield, to Miss BARNES of Newton.

[According to a transcription of the BTs, Joseph PEARSON, bachelor of the Parish of Brough, aged 25, and Fanny BARNS of this parish singlewoman, aged 22, married on 05 Aug 1777 at Holme Cultram.]

 

Last week at Holme Cultram, Mr. William CARR of Marlbrough, to Miss Peggy OSBORNE of the same place.

[According to a transcription of the BTs, William CARR, bachelor, aged 23, and Margaret OSBURN, singlewoman, aged 20, both of this Parish, married on 14 Aug 1777 at Holme Cultram.]

 

Saturday last, in this town, Mr. Charles David BURNELL, one of the Seamen who brought in the Mercer) to Miss Betty SOUTER of Quay-street.

[According to the Whitehaven Marriages Database, Charles Davey BURNELL and Betty SOUTER married on 23 Aug 1777 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]

 

DIED

 

Tuesday last in this town, Mrs. Eleanor PEARSON, widow of the late Capt. Joseph PEARSON.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, she was buried on 21 Aug 1777 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]
