MARRIED

 

A few days ago, at Hutton, Mr. TAYLOR, officer of excise at Mill-Holme, to Miss THOMPSON of Hutton.

[Millholme is in the parish of New Hutton, Westmorland.]

 

A few days ago at Ireby, Mr. Thomas THOMPSON of Stavely, Westmorland, to Miss Molly YOUNGHUSBAND of Gilcrux in this county; a young lady whose personal and mental accomplishments cannot fail of rendering the marriage state happy.

[According to the Marriage Bond, Thomas THOMPSON was of the parish of Ireby, yeoman, and Mary YOUNGHUSBAND of the parish of Gilcrux. According to FamilySearch, they married on 05 Jun 1777 at Ireby.]

 

Sunday se'ennight at Deane, by the Rev. Mr. TARN, Mr. Jeremiah DANSON, officer of excise, to Miss Sarah NICHOLSON of Pardshaw.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Jeremy DANSON and Sarah NICHOLSON, both of Dean, married on 20 Jul 1777 at Dean.]

 

Saturday last, at Bridekirk, Mr. Christopher TAYLOR, upwards of 40 years carpenter in his Majesty's yard at Woolwich (but now retired with a pension) to Miss MOWHAN, an industrious young woman, with a handsome fortune.

[According to FamilySearch, Christopher TAYLOR, aged 67, and Elizabeth MACKWAN, aged 43, married on 09 Aug 1777 at Bridekirk.]

 

DIED

 

Tuesday last at Nether-Hall, Miss Catharine SENHOUSE, 2d daughter of Humphrey SENHOUSE, Esq. her remains were interred in the family vault at Cross-Cannonby.

 

A few days ago, at Kirkbride, in the 25th year of her age Miss Dorothy DRAPE, daughter of Mr. John DRAPE of that place.

 

A few days ago Miss BENSON, daughter of Thomas BENSON, Esq. of Carlisle.

 

A few days ago at Bath, the Rev. Dr. DAMPIER, Dean of Durham.

[According to Bath newspapers, he died on Wednesday 30 Jul 1777. According to Wikipedia, his name was Thomas DAMPIER.]

 

At Seatonburn near Newcastle, John GRIEVE, Esq. in the 67th year of his age.

[According to the Bishop's Transcripts, John GRIEVE was buried on 05 Aug 1777 at St. John, Newcastle upon Tyne.]
