Last week died at Egremont, greatly regretted, the Rev. Mr. CARMALT, 54 years curate of Haile and Ponsonby; his remains were interred at the former place with suitable solemnity, and that respect which ever attends the obsequies of the learned, pious, and good men.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, George CANNELL of Egremont, aged 80, was buried on 19 Apr 1778 at Haile. The Clergy of the Church of England Database confirms that his name was George CANNELL.]
