Dear all,

it was great seeing you all in Trento and I hope you had a good trip back - mine was relatively long but at least I met a fellow STS person with whom to spent some time in a bar late night in Innsbruck as we waited for the train.

With elvira and martina I already discussed the possibility for members of the group to spend an additional day in Trento when we next meet in order to start brainstorming/working on a possible research topic for a joint application next year. While I know that we're all busy with various projects and commitments my thinking is that if we could delineate some research questions or directions, this could help me/us to start collecting literature and the like to get started in preparations of a common project.

the scheduled time table for the conference in December is as follows:
the conference starts Wednesday 1.12 at 5-7 with a plenary lecture by B. Duden and ends Saturday 4.12 at 12.30. So there could be a possibility to meet on Wednesday e.g., or on Saturday (where there is only a round table and a lecture by T. Rees lecture that i would be happy to skip.)

If we were deciding for some joint work, it could also be nice to stay in the same hotel. On Saturday i took a look at teh hotel Academia - they offer a rate of 60EUR for single, and charge 60EUR a day for a meeting room (though their smallest meeting room wasn''t that nice, but there could be a possibility to negotiating rates for a bigger one). an alternative could be the Albermonaco, located on the hill but still in walking distance to teh university. they also have a meeting room (but I haven't seen it) and WIFI and they also have a (small) swimming pool and sauna, which i like!! Rate is also 60EUR for single, so slightly more than most of you probably would like to spent but maybe still worth it.

So please think about what you would like to do, and if there is interest, I'm happy to make some arrangements with a hotel - maybe within in the next 2-3 weeks before everything will be booked again.

Looking forward to hearing back

Best from prague
Dagmar

Dear all,

for those of you who could not attend our meeting in Trento on the
EASST-conference I send out our presentations of the network-meeting and
the flyer we laid on some conference desks.

They will be also uploaded on the GENNA-webpage.

We had some guests there who had been interested in the network.
Due to the short time we dicussed some topics but naturally got far from
decisions.

So looking forward stabilising our network,
hopefully see you again in Trento in December,
best from Vienna,
Martina

Hi Martina,
Perhaps I should fix my text in to the same graphic style as yours, what do you think? It looks a bit off with my pages.

Dear all,

yes, it was very good to see each other again, I came back to Berlin
in very good spirits.

The Albermonaco sounds very fine to me. From google-maps I see that it
will be a walk of 20-30 minutes to the conference place, depending on
the weather.

I can arrange to arrive on Tuesday, either in the morning or in the
evening. If we have the Wednesday before the conference starts that
would be almost a day. From my side, on Saturday we could have a short
final meeting (probably a bit tired), because the 4 pm train would be
best for me too.

Because of a quite heavy cold all my other replies will come a bit delayed.

Vry best to all of you, and especially to Cathrine, Elvira

Dear all,

here are some more material from STS/History of science that we want to
tie in better with gender studies. Sven Widmalm, author of the journal
article, have agreed to be one of the key notes at the symposium (see
attachment).

Dear Staffan and Elvira

thanks for sending the reading materials - could you just briefly clarify what the procedure of preparing for the symposium, and the invitation of speakers will be? I remember talking with Elvira in trento that she wants people taking over responsibilities for 'their' streams. does this mean we should think (again) whom to invite, or have invitations been send out at this point?

I'm engaged in very different stuff át the moment, and there were no minutes taken either, so sorry, for not remembering clearly

(on a different note, I have now decided to come to Uppsala from 19.4. If that's OK with you two, i will write to the adminstrator, Cecelie, right?)

Thanks again for the clarfication

Dagmar

ps. I take it we will all book our own accommodation for trento in december. Like elvira, and hopefully martina, i plan to come to trento on the Tuesday before the conference already, probably around lunch time, and now will make a reservation for the albermaggio. (seems like I have messed up the confirmation for my paper, so am on the waiting list at the moment but that's anothother story...)

liebe dagmar,

Dagmar
