Hello,

Please see the below email I have going with the folks over at Sonar.  I'm wondering if this is a known issue, or if I'm doing something wrong, or if there is a workaround?

Thanks,

Josh

Not that I am aware of.  Perhaps this is something that should be brought up in their mailing lists?

OK, so if I understand correctly, this means that Gendarme does not report the correct file for the violations (in the case of violations found on "*.designer.cs" files). Is there a way to know (when reading the Gendarme report) that a specific violation belongs to the designer file and not the its C# counterpart?

Hi Fabrice,

The Gendarme result file is pointing to file.ascx.cs.

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

in the Gendarme XML result file (that you can find in the "target" directory), on which file does Gendarme report the AvoiDVisibleFieldsRule violation?

Hi all,

I'm have a situation where I'm analyzing a project that is ignoring generated files, but violations from that generated file are being reported on.  I have sonar.dotnet.excludeGeneratedCode is set to true and there are 3 files:

file.ascx
file.ascx.cs
file.ascx.designer.cs

file.ascx.cs is reporting a bunch of violations (AvoidVisibleFieldsRule), but the violations actually exist in the designer file.  This seems incorrect to me?  Is this intentional or a defect?  Thoughts?

Sonar 2.11
C# 1.1

Thanks!
