Not sure if any of you have seen my post in the general forum about
blowing my h-bridge on my extruder board but I did by trying to hook a
higher torque stepper directly to it. tried the nema 23 from makerbot
and a lin wo-4118l-01. both blew the bridge within just a few
minutes.

Now i have desoldered one of the boards and soldered in wires for
connecting those outputs D5-8 to a stepper board. my problem is that I
seem to not understand all the interactions so all my changes have
failed. the closest ive come to success is just connecting the
direction for motor 1 to step on the board and i can get it to go in
one direction.

Not realy all that useful but i know it will work if i can just modify
the source.

I would also create my own branch but so far havent been able to. not
sure what im doing wrong.

Hi Robert;

Sorry, I've had my head down working on the v2 firmware.

Can you explain to me the issues you're running into, or the work that
needs to be done to support what you're working on? I'd love to make
sure that v2 is flexible enough to support everyone.

Thanks,
-a

ok, ive had to desolder the h-bridges from the extruder board since i
blew them both trying to drive a nema 23 stepper with them. I then
directly connected to the outputs that drove the h-bridges and
connected 3 of those to a separate stepper board. the issue is how to
alter the firmware so that it uses those three outputs as enable step
and direction. if i tell the board that its driving a regular dc motor
i can get it to step and I can get it to go in a direction but I cant
seem to make it do enable properly. I honestly havent been working on
this in a bit. I got a mega board and a bunch of pololu boards and
have been trying to get my mendel running.

hmm, just re read my origional post and must have remembered it wrong.
I guess i could only get it to step in one direction.
