Ok. I've been going through the firmware and see under config.h that
there is a rs485_address with a default value of 0. From looking at
the sang firmware it at least implies if I change this value the
different extruders will be recognized seperately.
My two questions are if repg will recognize them and if i
mseeing rhat right

well, i was able to verify that repg will create multiple extruder
tabs now i just need to know what the name of the extruder number is
in the configuration file. it see's board 0 but doesnt seem to be
associating board 1 with the second extruder field.

Hi,

I'll poke around the firmware and see if I can support this when we
get back to New York on Tuesday. I'm currently in the process of
doing a firmware rewrite, so support may be a little weak until that's
finished.

Thanks,
-a

Thanx, any information you can give would be appreciated. from my own
looking into the firmware and repg it appears that support for it is
at least potentially there i just cant seem to get responses and im
not
sure if its because I'm using the wrong syntax or something else. also
i came up against another block to implementing it. namely that the
makerbot stepper motors are too underpowered for a direct drive
extruder so I'm going to have to make a geared version until i can
acquire stronger nema 17 steppers.

Yeah, there's no way the nema 17s can evolve enough pressure to
extrude ABS without a bit of gearing. The old stepper-driven reprap
extruder used a lead screw as a worm gear to push the ABS, iirc.
