Hi,
I have a e825 2001 which did the same thing. I spent about two hours
on the phone with the factory techs diagnosing the problem.
Unfortunately, it was that the Motor Controller unit was shot, and
getting a new one cost me close to a grand with tax and shipping. GEM
and GE evidently have no "exchange" program, which really sucks. The
GEM techs are great, and I would suggest calling them to confirm that
is what is wrong before ordering a replacement. Also, get the MSRP on
the part from them (I think it is $925), because some dealers mark up
their parts, even though they do not stock them and just have them
drop shipped from the factory to you.
Removal/installation is not too bad if you take out the #6 battery
from the front. I did it without doing that and it was kind of a
bitch.
Mine quit on me a mile+ from the house, and I towed it home. The
manual "does not recommend" towing, but never tells you to flip the
disconnect switch OFF before towing. Failing to do so really stresses
the controller and motor. I wrote them suggesting strongly that the
manual be changed to say this!
