I am having trouble with 2 Gem cars . . .
Car # 1
2020 GEM E2
I have only had this car about 2 months. I bought it with the R4F high speed gear and an Allied battery 210AH ( 1 large battery). The issue with this car is that when I drive the car, the GEM battery indicator will go to 0% and then switch the car to “TURTLE” mode. The Allied batter is still showing 64%, but the car is going to turtle mode based on the GEM meter. Is this a software setting? It seems like the car thinks that there is a smaller capacity battery than what is in the car.
I have been trying to find a 2024 Service manual with no success . . .
Car # 2
2024 GEM E2
This car came with the gel batteries and ran fine for 3 years. I decided last summer to convert it to Lithium 48 V (Palm batteries - 8 in parallel ) along with a lithium charger from R4F. After the battery swap, the car would randomly quit running altogether. It would quit after 300 ft sometimes and sometimes it would go several miles, but it would always eventually just lose power and coast to a stop. The gauges would all go blank as well.
If you plugged the car in to the wall to charge, after a few seconds, it comes back to life . . . the gauges light up, and the car will run normally for a while until it quits.
I was riding around with a generator in the back to reboot it with so I wouldn’t get stranded.
I am wondering if anybody has seen these issues before and if you have any solutions the get them running properly. . .
Thank you in advance for your help with this
