Dari milis lain : We, Asian Americans need to follow the Ukraine conflict closely.
US mainstream media as usual, will not tell us the truth. Therefore we have to actively look for it.

In the US media, Russia and China are presented as US enemies with China as the biggest threat. It goes without saying that if successful in dominating Russia, the next US project is China. As daily China-bashing increases, so will Anti Asian sentiment. PRC has so far refused to call Russia an invader. When Blinken called Wang Yi on 2/21/22, China told Blinken to respect Minsk 1 Agreement, signed September 2014. In this agreement, all signatories have agreed that NATO will not expand eastward toward Russia. How the US, its allies, and NATO violated Minsk1, watch video no.2 below.  Biden bluntly violated Minsk 1 agreement by telling Zelensky, the current president of Ukraine, to ignore Minsk 1 Agreement. Putin wants the US and its allies to guarantee that Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO. Putin doesn’t want to negotiate with Zelenski, the current Ukraine president. Zelenski, a comedian by profession, was installed by the US and was never recognized by Russia. Putin holds Zelenski responsible for the suffering of Ukraine people in Donbas, Donetsk, and Lugansk for 8 years of being killed and maimed by the shelling from Ukraine's paramilitary. See Texan American"s, Russell Bentley. account, video no 2.  Ukraine is controlled by fascists and Nazi people, who became sudden bedfellows of our country, the so-called democratic US and its allies! Ukraine's fascists and Nazi people take their orders from the White House.

NATO was immorally conceived with the right to attack any country without any legal reason if that country committed genocide. So think of China being accused of committing genocide against the Uighurs without any evidence. And think of US who committed genocide against Native Americans, a case with proven evidence!

What US did by deepening the division between Taiwan and China, it did so to Ukraine and Russia by using the same playbook. NATO is the US tool of war to keep US grip on Europe. In 1991-1992 NATO balkanized a sovereign country like Yugoslavia by dividing it into three parts with one being governed by a US puppet till date. Creating small countries is one easy way to dominate and steal the country's assets.

Ukraine conflict is also about Chevron and ExxonMobil Oil, big US oil companies, who want to remove Russia from the world's oil market for their monopoly purposes. Russian natural gas has already been channeled thru old pipes that go thru Ukraine. Germany had agreed with Russia to sell more natural gas to Germany and other EU countries by building a new pipe using green technology, connecting Russia with Germany, and called Nordstream 2. US pressures Germany and other EU countries to shut down Nordstream2 and buy US fracking gas, even at a higher price.US doesn't want Europe to buyenergy from Russia. Because that will increased closeness between the two parties and increase Russia's influence on Europe. Putin doesn’t care about selling energy to EU. He already agreed to sell energy to China in even bigger amount than to Europe. Several days ago, Pakistan also sent authorities to Moskow to buy energy from Russia.

The videos below are arranged in a sequence that should help make it easier to understand the Ukraine conflict and US cruel role.

This is a second speech by Putin on 2/25/2022

Before sending 150K Russian soldiers to Donbass, Putin gave an unusually long speech on Febr 21, 2022, explaining the history of Russia, of the Ukraine conflict, his decisions to recognize Donbass, Donetz and Lugansk as independent countries. Why he sent Russian soldiers to defend the civilians in these former parts of Ukraine.

Richard Sakwa, Kent Univ.. author of 2 important books on Ukraine.’What happened is a tragedy. Europe consists of EU, Russia, Ukraine, etc. Now It is divided through its heart. Putin said in his long speech on 2/22/2022 that Ukraine people are Russians. But Putin never said they are in one state.’ Putin sent 150K Russian soldiers to Donbass to protect 95 mln civilians there from Ukraine’artilley attacks, when nobody else seems to care how they have been suffering for 7 years from being killed, maimed, wounded by Ukraine. Although being Russians who live in those parts that were part of Ukraine, they were forbidden to speak Russian. This should remind Chinese Indonesians of Soeharto prohibiting Chinese language and culture, definitely by order of Washington too.

Russell Bentley, a Texan, talked about why he moved to Donetsk in 2014 and fight against Ukraine war crimes against civilians in Donetsk, Donbas and Lugansk. These three areas have mostly Russian populations and have become target of Ukraine’s shelling. On 2/21/22 Putin authorized 150K Russian soldiers to move into these areas to protect the civilians from further killing by Ukraine.

The Grayzone is US imminent investigative and activist journalist group. Its key journalists are Max Blumenthal, who successfully debunked US Xinjiang lies and slanders. Ben Norton, often interviewed by RT for his extensive knowledge in South American countries with a history of US multiple regime changes, and others.

Democracy now, Ex-U.S. Ambassador to USSR: Ukraine Crisis Stems Directly from Post-Cold War Push to Expand NATO Febr 17, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5F0JSy-HHY

U.S. officials are accusing Russia of sending more forces to the Ukrainian border just days after Moscow announced it was pulling some troops back. This comes as Ukrainian authorities and Russian-backed separatists are both accusing the other side of violating a ceasefire in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine. For more on the history behind the present crisis in Ukraine, we speak with one of the last U.S. ambassadors to the Soviet Union prior to the collapse of the USSR, Ambassador Jack Matlock, who says the U.S.-led expansion of NATO following the end of the Cold War helped lay the groundwork for the current standoff over Ukraine. He argues continued escalation could stoke another nuclear arms race, and lays out some of the parallels with the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
