I created a Quick Link for Employee Center (not the Pro version) to display in the Quick Link widget on the homepage. I don't need it to display on other pages. I can see the quick link and use it, but the non-itil users can't and I don't understand why.
For various reasons, I needed to create a quick link to the Knowledge Portal, which I have done. All users have access to the Knowledge Portal if they navigate to Self-Service -> Knowledge. When they click it, they get directed to kb_home.
The Knowledge Portal had two roles (snc_internal, snc_external), but the quick link I created and the quick link widget did not. It turns out there is some code that does security cross-checking and that was causing the problem. Since we don't have the Explicit Roles plugin installed, the solution was to remove the roles from kb_home. Now the end users can access the Knowledge Portal from the quick link.
You shouldn't need to add the Available For for the Quick Link to appear. This is only when you need to limit the access to it. You've confirmed if you manually navigate to the KB Portal (kb_home) as one of the users, they can access it...? I only ask, because usually Self-Service > Knowledge doesn't redirect to kb_home, but to the platform knowledge.do.
Can you test the Quick Link by assigning it to a Topic (from related list on quick link) and see if it shows up there for non-admin? You may need to impersonate another user first, because Topic updates don't always show immediately.
This page is a one-stop shop for all the links you'll need as a faculty or staff member; if you bookmark any page on this site, make it this one. If you can't find what you're looking for, try the search bar in the top right.

The legal definition of homelessness for public schools includes children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This definition specifically includes children and youth sharing the housing of others temporarily due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reasons; staying in motels or hotels due to lack of adequate alternatives; or staying in shelters, transitional housing, cars, and campgrounds.
Students may disclose information to counselors/counseling staff about their living situation that indicates that they are experiencing homelessness. For example, they might mention staying with friends temporarily, moving frequently, or being uncertain of where they will stay. In addition to these signs, the school district liaison or other school staff may inform counselors that a student is experiencing homelessness. This quick guide provides practical tips and strategies for supporting students experiencing homelessness, helping meet their basic needs and planning for graduation.
Thank the student for speaking with you and let them know your number one priority is to help them if they want help. You can provide support, resources, and a safe space, and get things out of their way so they can focus on school.
