Gelato is pretty much dead

Since the new release of PHP pretty much killed Gelato, there's no
point in using it - if you do not know how to change eregi to replace
and so on.

A lot of the functions in PHP that are used in Gelato CMS are now
depricated.

I truly hope this isn't the case. Since it's open source, perhaps
there are others out there who are willing to work on it? I think it
would be a shame to let it die. Just my 2 cents.

Glad to see that there's life on this ML :D
I agree that let it die is a shame, but I think that gelato had some troubles (and lots of lacks as a tumblog) well before the deprecation of the PHP functions, and, IMHO, fixing and expanding it is not so easy: maybe a complete rewrite is more manageable.
However, it would be great if someone could take care of it, even because there's no alternative in the FOSS world for tumblogging.
