Can anyone recommend a method of filling time slots for parent-teacher conferences that does not require every person responding have a Google account? The Google form add-on Choice Eliminator does not seem to be very reliable and appointment slots in Calendar require Google accounts to use it. Does anyone know of another method of allowing parents to schedule themselves for conferences that does not require a Google account? We had been using Signup Genius but the ads are a turnoff.

I’m a fan of Calendly, but I’d just make sure the free version does everything you need.

Hi Lorraine,

Give this service a try...

JotForm
https://www.jotform.com/
JotForm is a good alternative to Google Forms and Microsoft Forms. In JotForm there is an option to add appointment registration questions. You can set appointment slots of 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Once an appointment has been claimed it can't be claimed by anyone else visiting your form.

Thanks,
Don Yerks

We have used the free version of "You Can Book Me" for similar tasks and it has worked well for us... https://youcanbook.me/

Our high school uses something called PTCFast. The principal or admin sets it up and provides the link to parents via social media.  Parents can sign up on their own or teachers can add in a conference on their own.  We have been using PTCFast for 3-4 years now.

We use a program called PTC Fast.  It is $50 per semester.

My Conference Time is another option.
It is simple to set up on the school side (especially if you have a large staff), and super easy for parents to use and sign up.
Their customer service is also super attentive! The fee is minimal compared to other paid scheduler resources but you can try it for free first.

Hello all,
Has anyone used Google calendar with the event type "appointment slots" to create parent-teacher conference appointments?  This would be for our high school, where teachers are able to create their own schedule of 4 hours to be done throughout the week.  Parents have the option of attending the conference in person or virtually via Google Meet.

Some potential downfalls are that teachers will have to set up the Calendar Event and that parents must have a Google account to sign up.  If parents don't have a Google account, they could use their student's account.

Any thoughts or feedback on this is welcome!  Thanks!

This is what I used the last two years for PT conferences.  It worked well and often meant that students were sitting with their parents on the Chromebook to make it happen.
