Hello from Cedar Falls. I want to share a free PD opportunity with you being held in Oak Park, Illinois (just outside of Chicago). This is a culminating event that is part of a grant-funded project I have been working on with Digital Promise for the past 5 years. All costs are covered for you to attend except your transportation to and from. Read more below or click here for all of the information. I hope to see some fellow Iowans there. :)

We’re excited to announce the 2026 iCoachTEAM Summer Institute taking place June 2-4, 2026 in Oak Park, Illinois! The institute is designed for coaches, teachers, and administrators who support instructional improvement in math.

The Instructional Coaching for Tech-Enhanced Approaches in Mathematics (iCoachTEAM) provides professional learning experiences for coaches, teachers, and administrators to enhance mathematics instruction with technology. We focus on promoting conceptual understanding and conducting formative assessment, with resources specifically designed to support students performing below grade level in mathematics. While our examples at the institute will focus on middle school math, the strategies that will be learned are relevant for coaching and teaching across K-12.

The iCoachTEAM Summer Institute will provide training on how to:

  • Utilize iCoachTEAM's math-focused resources to support instructional improvement.

  • Apply principles of high-quality math instruction, with an emphasis on conceptual understanding and formative assessment.

  • Integrate technology effectively to enhance high-quality math instruction.

  • Implement research-based math instructional strategies.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to connect and build relationships with other coaches, teachers, and administrators in similar roles.

Food and hotel costs for the institute are covered. In addition, participants who attend the entire 3-day event will receive a $60/hour stipend for attendance hours (six hours each on June 2 and 3, and five hours on June 4 for a total of 17 hours). All transportation and flight costs are the responsibility of participants or their school districts.

Space is limited to the first 60 people who register. The deadline to register is April 30, 2026. If 60 participants register before April 30, 2026 we will close registration at that time.
