Inviting Guardians to Google Classroom Problem

Hello,

Does anyone know why I am not able to invite Guardians when other teachers in the same Domain have this ability?

I have been trying to figure this out but am stuck. I am also the Google Admin so I have checked the settings. Everything seems to be set correctly.

Good Morning Angie, 

I hope all is well.   When you go into the Google Classroom,  and then you click on the people tab, and scroll down to the students, next to the student names does it say invited guardian?  or have the the guardian email address?  Can you click on the three dots and click on invite guardian? 

In the admin console is this turned on for all OUs?

Good morning,

Angie I had this same issue!! It's like my account was set up correctly through the school... I felt like I was cracking up. I believe when I started, the IT department didn't have me in the right domain. I had to get in touch with them to fix it. If you need, I can ask them specifically what they did.

Thanks for the tips. I do need to make sure my Google Teacher account is in the correct OU and I have the Guardian Summaries enabled in the correct OUs, too. With this teacher account and my Google Admin account, it may be mixed up. Who knows?!

I finally figured it out. There is a group called "Classroom Teachers" in the Admin Console and my user was not part of that Group. Once I added myself as a member of that group, then the invite guardians option showed up. I must have removed myself from that group without realizing it would cause a problem. Go figure!
