https://confluence.cc.lehigh.edu/x/pIj0BQOverall — turnitin has MANY more databases and paywalled resources to check against for plagiarism.
OA is best used to help with citation and wide net searches on the WWW — but nearly as expansive as turnitin for cross checking.
Turnitin also now has a AI checker. (Not sure how great it is….)
I would say overall OA is a kid version of Turnitin — Turnitin has been around MUCH longer and has a lot of resources.
