My friend asked me this Q:

Is there a way one can restrict uninstalling of an app on android?

iOS has this feature. Quite handy when kids take our phone. They may unknowingly uninstall any app. Once one app on my ipad was uninstalled which had 15gb application data. It was a nightmare to restore it again.

Unfortunately there is no such feature I know of. You can check the "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore" settings which should be enough for restoration in case any app is unintentionally uninstalled.

And yes, I forgot. You can install applock to lock important apps and system settings, so that anyone cannot uninstall without knowing the applock password.
This should be useful to your friend.

Avast theft software provides tracking of stolen phone.
Obviously, it can't be uninstalled without knowing its password. otherwise thief can uninstall to stop it being tracked.

I think applock can not stop "uninstall" ing any app. (my friend was telling he explored this option too!)
