Interesting application of PCA

I was going through the PCA section of the homework, and it reminded me of a project I had read about a few months ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eigenface.  This makes PCA a lot more interesting to me :)

Nice. I had been thinking that facial recognition would be a good not-too-large group project.If you look at the programming exercises, you'll see that there is something very similar to eigenfaces there(!). Could be a good starting point for recognition--hook it up to a neural network...
