to Geek Week AZ
This is a tentative list of events to be involved in Geek Week AZ.
Because Geek Week AZ itself is not yet set in stone, neither are these
events. The organizers for the first list have all expressed interest.

PodCampAZ 3 -- Free event; 600+ attendees
4th Annual Arizona Entrepreneurship Conference -- Paid event; 250-500
attendees
Ignite Phoenix (probably #5) -- Free event; 350+ attendees
BIL Conference (probably the 4th or 5th) -- Free event; has not yet
been held in Phoenix
Startup Weekend Phoenix (probably #2, possibly #3) -- Paid event; ~100
attendees
BarCamp Phoenix -- Free event; ~100 attendees

Monthly events/organizations to consider including:
Social Media Club
Refresh Phoenix
Tempe Nerds
Geek-n-Eat
TweetUp AZ (ad-hoc)
Various language/platform User Groups
Gangplank Hack Night (Chandler-only)

Did I forget any? Also, if things go forward as planned, I would hope
to see an inaugural Microsoft-platform conference like we seen in
SoCal, Vegas, and many other cities.

I ran the idea by the local Microsoft developer evangelist and he loved it.  He is going to chat with his boss and see what they can do.  In the mean time, I am meeting up with a bunch a Microsoft developers this weekend (including a local one) to see if we can put together a decent size Microsoft conference and a Code Camp.

In addition to the list above, I am going to be sitting down with
Scott Cate, who is taking over Desert Code Camp (and I think Joe
Guadagno will be helping). It is a popular event that I think is about
3 years old with a couple hundred attendees.

Scott Cate and I were chatting about in on the plan and are going to put a Code Camp together.  We are going to hammer out the details in the next few days.
