I've been trying to tell people about everything going on during Geek Week, but to be honest I'm having a hard time keeping it all straight myself.  What would you think about putting together a one page summary of all the events in that time frame - show what is on which nights, a one paragraph description, cost, location, and URL?  Could be a handy thing to start passing around since we're just over 2 months out.

I proposed putting together a web site for Geek Week events back in
July. The response was that we shouldn't work together this year, but
perhaps we could in the future. Fortunately, "Geek Week" will be
happening this year, whether or not there's a web site, calendar, or
cooperation.

Tomas created this awesome calendar/spreadsheet to keep track of
scheduled and tentative events:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AgPokzagXL8EdEoyWmlTd0dwUzVBenJrd2ZRd2xtc1E&hl=en

If you want to share info about Geek Week events, you can:

1.) Tell people about the events you are most excited about
2.) Post event info from the above link on a web site or blog it
3.) Share a link to that Google Docs spreadsheet (warning: it *might*
be set to allow anyone to edit...)

Thanks,
- Brian

Since I can not update that spreadsheet.  How about you add Desert Code Camp on 11/7 to it and eventification.  The announcement will be coming out tonight.

Thanks!

Awesome, Joe! We'll get it added asap.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out with DCC.

I know there was concern about sponsorship and other items, but a whole lot of events (including Ignite) set their dates to support this idea in one fashion or another. "shouldn't work together" is news to me, as Geek Week is what I and a lot of others are using to describe the giant pile of stuff happening in the middle of November.

The spreadsheet isn't something that we can easily give to the unfamiliar to explain all of what is going on when. I'd love to see everyone make sure their info is current, then see what we can do about making a real succinct page that would explain them to a newcomer.
