TheInternational Airport of Athens (abbreviation: AIA, IATA code: ATH) is the largest airport in Greece and the Balkan peninsula. It is also one of the busiest in Europe, as it was ranked 19th in the list of the busiest European airports in 2022.

It is located in the region of Spata, 30 km east of Athens' city center and 15 km away from the port of Rafina.

The airport was named after Eleftherios Venizelos, a former Prime Minister of Greece and one of the most pivotal figures of the European political scene of the 20th century.

Hundreds of destinations in Greece and across the world are connected with AIA via both domestic and international flights.

The airport was inaugurated in 2001 in order to replace the old airport of Athens which was located in Ellinikon. Since its establishment, several alterations were made in order to serve the millions of travelers and the airport is now a well-equipped and well-functioning modern space.

The International Airport of Athens receives numerous domestic and international flights every day throughout the year.

Regarding flights within Greece, thanks to it, the capital is the place with the most connections to other areas of the mainland and the islands. Almost all places hosting an airport are connected to Athens and, in most cases, the flights are direct.

Furthermore, intercity buses (KTEL buses) connect the airport with the port of Rafina. Twelve routes between the two points operate daily. Tickets are purchased inside the bus and payments are made in cash.

For more information, passengers can call the central bus station at +30 210 88 08 000.

The taxi fare for a drive between the Airport and the city center is priced at 40 EUR (indicative price). The exception is between 00:00 - 05:00 when the night rate applies and prices are higher. The cost of the same drive during these hours is 55 EUR (indicative).

The distance between the International Airport of Athens and Syntagma Square (city center) is 33 km via Attiki Odos (the toll motorway system of Athens) and 27 km via the highroads, yet the traffic makes the second option more time-consuming. Therefore, many visitors prefer to enter the toll road.

Finally, many hotels offer shuttle services to their guests, usually for an additional cost. We suggest contacting your accommodation and asking for more information regarding the service.

Does Milos have an airport? Yes, Milos has a small national airport that makes the island easy accessible from the mainland. Milos airport is only 10 min away, 4.7 km, from Adamas by bus or by car.

To move from Milos airport to the main villages or to your hotel you can :

- pickup your rented car from the airport (there are offices inside the airport),

- arrange to be picked up by the hotel,

- take a taxi (you will find them when you exit the airport),

- take the bus (the bus stop is on the main road, you must walk for about 4 min (300 m).

The flight from Athens International Airport El. Venizelos (ATH)to the Airport of Milos (Milos airport code - MLO) is a 40 minutes nonstop flight. During the flight the air hostess offers refreshing drinks, biscuits and often a small sample from local products of Greece.

The airport of Naxos is located approximately 4km southwest from the island's capital. Its IATA airport code is JNX and its runway is only 900m long. It can, therefore, serve small planes only (ATR42, DHC7 and DHC8). There is direct connection with the Athens International Airport and with other European airports via pre-arranged charter flights. The airport was constructed in 1992 and it serves the people of Naxos and the island's tourism ever since. It is at exactly l3704'56" Northand 2522'07" East.

If you do not have your own vehicle, you can access the airport by taxi. Car hire companies use its ample parking space to leave cars previously booked by their clients. Most car rental companies offer this service for free, especially for repeating customers. Similarly, you may also arrange to leave the car there at your departure and leave it at the airport parking for them to pick it up.

Whether you are travelling during low, middle or high season, making a last minute booking for your flights to Naxos and back is not a good idea. If low cost is on your mind and you wish to get the best possible deals available, then make sure you book your tickets as early as possible to benefit from any price discounts available. Timetable of all flights to Naxos is available early enough, with departure and arrival time, total price (with taxes), plane type information and online booking system.

TIP: When travelling from Naxos airport, please keep in mind that you should get there at least 1 hour ahead. It is a rather small airport with only a few facilities and not adequate personnel so, it gets rather busy due to the fact that most travellers get there 30 minutes before their plane departs.

If you are using a charter flight, make sure you contact your local agent for more flight details and additional information. With the airline market being even more competitive, flight companies are reducing their fares by offering vouchers or limited time offers to boost sales and keep cheap rates. It is not uncommon that a ticket from anywhere in Europe to Naxos will cost cheaper than the ticket from Athens to Naxos, even though the distance is much greater.

Flight schedule is rather accurate. That does not mean that there are no delays for both arrivals and departures. You may use a flight tracker such as Flight Aware to estimate the exact arrival time of your flight. Flight Board is another great application from Apple that informs you on the status of each flight as it has access to all arrivals and departures for any airport on the planet. These two major tools, together with any ticket finder will help you find the best available fare online. Should you encounter any difficulty, you can always contact a Naxos flight agency and request further assistance.

On the map below, you may see the exact location of the Airport of Naxos and the proposed route from the capital's central square (Plateia Protodikeiou). Duration of the drive depends on the traffic, so make sure you depart early enough to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Paros National Airport ICAO: LGPX (YES I know the ICAO code should be LGPA but I wanted to keep the old airport open) is the airport serving the island of Paros, Greece, in the Cyclades islands region. The airport is located in the southwestern part of the island, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the port of Parikia. It replaced the Old Paros National Airport on 25 July 2016. The old airport of Paros, which was situated a few kilometers to the south, was operational since 1982. Its 710-meter runway was sufficient for its time, but over years, passenger numbers grew making the use of larger aircraft necessary. Although these aircraft could serve various Greek airports, Paros airport was not one of them. The reason was that it had a short runway. It was finally decided that there should be a new airport for the island. The new airport opened in 2016 taking over all operations of the old airport. It has a wider, 1,400 meter runway and larger aircraft can use it. The types that fly to the airport currently are the following: Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 of Olympic Air, ATR 42/72 of Sky Express, BAe 146 & ATR42/72 of Astra Airlines and B737-700 of SmartWings.

Made for XP11 ONLY as it uses the new terminal system in XP 11.20+ . I do not claim it's 100% accurate depiction of the actual airport but close., I hope you like it .I have added fully working airport services at this airport so don't forget to call them at the gate

CEO Odysseus Athanassiou shares how the project, which began in 2013 and will open in 2026, is progressing. When the 6,200-acre project is fully complete in 2037, it will have brought 80,000 jobs and more than 10 billion euros in tax revenue alone to the country.

There is also an extensive beachfront, which is also open to the public, an urban park (part of which is on the original runway), cultural venues and a center for those with various disabilities. Tourists will be able to scan a QR code to follow a self-guided culture tour of the many monuments and important sites within the park like historic churches and an ancient tomb. The marina that is part of the development hosted the sailing center during the global sporting event.

The park will be home to more than 31,000 trees representing 86 different species plus a million plants native to the Mediterranean region. Many of the trees are being grown in a nearby nursery before they moving them to the project and provide lush greenery and shade to residents and visitors. The goal is for the park to become completely carbon-neutral within the next four decades. It will be one of the largest coastal parks in the world and more than twice the size of Hyde Park in London. This also more than doubles the amount of green space for Athenians.

OA: 95% of residents who have already purchased property are Greeks (either living within the country or from the largest diaspora). The remainder of investors includes people from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Middle East, all of which are important markets for the project. Property sales have amounted to more than 600 million euros with that number expected to climb.
