Hi

I am looking at writing a script using the internal scripting language which reads in a GEDCOM file, runs some checks and then closes the file without saving it. I can read the file OK but when I do this I get two pop-ups, one to say that fields have been added to the file and one to ask whether to run checks. For this task, I am not interested in either of these and they just get in the way. Is there any way to suppress them?

Thanks

Richard

I think omitting those dialogs is better approach when using OpenFile command in an internal script. I just made that change and it will be in the next version. The assumption is that the script wants to automate opening and work with files without needed user feedback.

I left those dialogs in place if you use the UserOpenFile command because that is already asking for user input to select the file and therefore not ideal for a script to automating opening of files.

Hi John

That's great. Looking forward to testing it.
