One of the reasons why I have used GEDitCOM for years to back up my tree on Ancestry is that I can use it to generate very nice charts to illustrate the relationship between any two people in the tree.
But now, for the first time ever, I have noticed a glitch that sometimes occurs when the two people have a 'step' relationship.
Below are a few screenshots that illustrate the problem.
The underlying facts are:
(a) Mary Ann Hume's parents are John Hume and Jane Mary Gibbison.
(b) Sarah Jane Hume's parents are (the same) John Hume and Mary Stevens.
(c) Sarah Jane McDougal's mother is Mary Ann Hume.
The first chart below is correct, and is GEDitCOM's standard way of showing a step relationship, but the others just ignore the step factor.
Can this be fixed somehow?
